چکیده

In recent years, with the increases in coal mining depths, risk of seam outburst occurrences has increased. Therefore, it is major significance to study multiscale structures soft and hard deposits order prevent control gas outbursts. this research investigation, were comprehensively examined using various laboratory methods. The results revealed following: (1) From a macrostructural aspect, physical mechanical properties weaker than those coal. It was found that majority specimens characterized by scaly without blocks larger 50 mm. observed be mainly massive only small part being clastic. structural characteristics considered stable. (2) microstructural perspective, surfaces rough. pores more developed, edge hackly. At same time, fractures also relatively showing good connectivity. (3) micropore BET-specific surface areas BJH-specific higher specimens, which indicated adsorption diffusion migration abilities greater (4) suggested from ventilation extraction processes should strengthened activities seams high, stratification content. methods used for water injection modification enhanced improve stability Consequently, instantaneous released gases will decelerated, events mine working faces can prevented.

Technical Methods of Safe High-efficient Exploitation of Coal and Gas Together in High-gas Coal Seams in China

There are many coal seams in high-gas mining area of China. The permeability is low. The gas extraction from the original coal seam is difficult and the commercial value is little. The conception of the safe high-efficient exploitation of coal and gas is put forward in this article. It changes the conventional exploitation sequence that is from the upper to below. When we exploit coal seams, th...

Estimation of coal seams gas content for evaluating potential use of methane drainage system in Tabas coal mine

Methane gas emission, accumulation, and explosion are the most important risk factors in underground coal mines. Hence, having a knowledge of methane gas emission potential in underground coal mines is of crucial importance in preventing the explosion risk, loss of life, and property, and providing miners' safety. The purpose of this work is to provide the prediction maps for the C1, C2, and B2...

Permeability evolution during progressive deformation of intact coal and implications for instability in underground coal seams

We report measurements of deformation, strength and permeability evolution during triaxial compression of initially intact coals. Permeability is continuously measured by the constant pressure differential method, together with axial and volumetric strains for both water (H2O) and strongly adsorbing carbon dioxide (CO2) gas. Strength and Young’s modulus increase with increasing confining stress...

Source and Distribution of Phosphorus in British Columbia Coal Seams

Phosphorus contents of coal from around the world vary although there is a tendency for Permian coals from India and Australia, and Cretaceous coals from Western Canada to have more phosphorus than Carbcmiferous coals from Europ+ and USA (Table 1). This may be because of the evolution of vegetation type over geological time or because of the conditions in the coal swamps. Data presented here su...

Geological and Geochemical Features of Alborz Basin Coal Deposits, Iran

The Alborz coal basin is located in northern part of Iran. The coal deposits of Shahrood in eastern Alborz, Zirab in central Alborz and Abyek in western Alborz were studied as typical coalfields of the basin. Shemshak Formation which is the main coal-bearing sequence was formed during the Triassic-Jurassic in the basin. It consists of sandstone, siltstone, shale and claystone, which variedly al...
